Today marks 10 years since I set out and started Tamarack Investment Partners in San Mateo, CA. I remember that first office on 3rd St. Sourced through a fellow baseball Dad, the single office in a historic building was a walk up to the mezzanine, no window - but there was no place I would have rather been.
Our journey from those early years can be attributed in large part to the outstanding capabilities (and performance!) of the general partners we’ve represented to institutional investors worldwide and our highly valued limited partner relationships globally. Thank you for your continued confidence and support.
A huge shout out to the summer interns from UC Berkeley, ESSEC, Universidade Europeia and Stanford who have worked with me over the years. This summer, we had Karen Flores, Helena Galan and Adrian Bernal operating out of a co-working space in Berkeley, Luan Correa and Niels Jantzen working remotely from Lisbon and in Huntington Beach in SoCal, Nicole Weber.
As we move into decade number two, we’ll be expanding our manager capabilities to include private markets strategies run by emerging managers in such diverse areas as agri-tech, European private debt, real estate and growth equity. Combined with our existing capabilities in Asia-focused liquid alternatives, we’ve never been more excited about the managers and solutions we are providing to investors as we move into our 2nd decade.
